Six people were arrested and nearly 10,000 doses of heroin and methamphetamine were taken off the street after the Utah County Sheriff's Office executed search warrants across three cities Monday and Monday, Aug. 17 and 18.

The Sheriff's Office announced Tuesday that its Special Enforcement Team and Major Crimes detectives had spent several weeks investigating a drug trafficking organization selling heroin and meth throughout Utah County.

Detectives served warrants at locations in Orem, Springville and Payson, seizing approximately 653 grams of heroin and 324 grams of methamphetamine. The Sheriff's Office said those amounts translate to roughly 6,530 individual heroin doses and 3,240 individual meth doses, based on a typical single dose of about 0.1 grams for each drug.

Investigators also recovered $5,787 in suspected drug proceeds.

No names or formal charges have been released.

The agency said it appears the Utah County distribution arm of the trafficking organization has been disrupted, language suggesting the network may extend beyond county lines. The Sheriff's Office has not said whether the broader investigation is ongoing or identified where the organization is based.
