Top-seeded Lone Peak hosts No. 16 Skyridge in an all-area 6A girls soccer first-round matchup Tuesday, Oct. 13, at 4 p.m. in Highland.

The Knights (14-3) ran through Region 3 with a perfect 8-0 conference record and enter the state tournament as the top overall seed, according to the Deseret News. Head coach Shantel Jolley, in her ninth year at Lone Peak, owns a 140-23 career record. The Knights won three straight 6A titles from 2022 to 2024 before falling 2-0 to Syracuse in last year's championship match.

Sasha Castro leads with seven goals. Macie Leavitt has five goals and a team-high eight assists. Sadie Stratton (5 goals, 4 assists), Katherine Mason (5 goals, 3 assists), Sami Schiffman (5 goals, 1 assist) and Jane Christensen (5 goals, 1 assist) round out a balanced attack. Goalkeeper Scotlyn Schlosser has posted three shutouts.

Lone Peak started the year 1-3 before winning eight straight. After a Sept. 1 double-overtime victory over Corner Canyon opened region play, Jolley told the Deseret News that her players had "adjusted to the changes we've made" after the rough start.

Skyridge (2-13) finished last in Region 3 at 1-7 under first-year head coach Jhoan Alvizo, a Spanish and Portuguese teacher at the school who replaced retired coach Toby Peterson. The Falcons have already faced the Knights twice this season, losing 4-2 on Sept. 15 and 3-1 on Oct. 1. In the Oct. 1 meeting, senior forward Saffron Osmond scored first before Lone Peak rallied in the second half, according to the Lehi Free Press.

Cambria Condie leads Skyridge with six goals and one assist, accounting for more than a third of the team's scoring. Lily Boren has three goals and Hallee Sheffield has two. Goalkeepers Sydney Findlayson and Bailey Jenkins have split time and combined for one shutout.

Skyridge upset defending champion Syracuse 4-3 on Aug. 21. After the regular-season finale, Alvizo told the Lehi Free Press on Oct. 9: "… we know on our day we can give the best teams a run for their money."

No. 6 Lehi (10-8) hosts No. 11 Herriman at 4 p.m. Tuesday in the other first-round matchup involving an area team. Fourth-year head coach Jonas Hartmann's Pioneers finished tied for second in Region 3 at 4-4 and scored 45 goals this season, the most in the conference.

Lillie Watson paces Lehi with 12 goals and four assists. Tessa Richards has seven goals and seven assists. Ashley Gardener has five goals and five assists, and Eilley Baker has three goals and five assists. Fourteen different Pioneers have scored this season. Goalkeepers Siena Wells and Jillian Farnes have combined for six shutouts while allowing 1.3 goals per game.

Hartmann told the Lehi Free Press on Oct. 8, after a 3-0 shutout of No. 4 American Fork in the regular-season finale, that his players delivered and he expects the momentum to carry into the bracket. Lehi's nonregion résumé also includes wins over 5A champion Bountiful (5-1), Olympus (1-0) and No. 9 seed Mountain Ridge (3-2). The Pioneers beat Herriman 2-0 on Aug. 13 in nonregion play.

Herriman (10-8) co-claimed the Region 2 title at 10-4 in conference but went 0-4 in nonregion play. Kaylee Carlson leads the Mustangs with 10 goals and eight assists.

The winner of Lone Peak-Skyridge advances to face No. 8 Layton or No. 9 Mountain Ridge in the quarterfinals. The Lehi-Herriman winner draws No. 3 Farmington or No. 14 Weber. Semifinals are set for Oct. 19 and the 6A final for Oct. 23 at Zions Bank Stadium in Herriman.
