Lehi captured the program's first-ever boys golf state championship Tuesday, Oct. 13, rolling to a seven-stroke victory at Talons Cove Golf Club in Saratoga Springs.

The Pioneers posted a two-round total of 562, 14 under par, to claim the 6A title. Skyridge finished second at 569 (-7) and Lone Peak third at 571 (-5), giving area schools a 1-2-3 sweep.

A year ago, Lehi finished ninth at state. This championship roster has no seniors. Three sophomores and three juniors made up the scoring lineup, according to the Deseret News.

Sophomore Crue Harward led Lehi with a second-place individual finish at 135 (-9), shooting 65 in Round 1 and 70 in Round 2. Sophomore Jordan Ofahengaue tied for third at 137 (-7).

Lone Peak junior Blake Brown repeated as the 6A individual medalist, firing a 12-under 132 over two rounds. Brown entered the final round three shots behind Harward but made six birdies on the back nine to pull away.

"I just knew I had to go low today," Brown said. "I was three shots down going into the day, and I just knew I had to be aggressive all day."

Brown hit his approach on No. 18 to within 15 feet and sank the birdie putt to seal the title. Harward then bogeyed the same hole to fall three back.

Skyridge freshman Jraice Finau, son of PGA Tour player Tony Finau, finished fifth individually at 138 (-6) and anchored the Falcons' runner-up effort. Lone Peak moved ahead of Skyridge partway through Round 2, but the Falcons rallied to edge the Knights by two strokes, according to the Lehi Free Press. Skyridge junior Klive Fuhriman tied for 10th at 142 (-3).

Lehi coach Johnny Revill, a Lehi High School alumnus who has decorated his pickup truck with Pioneer golf signs and sports a "Pioneers" license plate, said he was proud of his players' grit. He called the young roster "feisty." Junior Brodyn Pace bounced back from an 80 in Round 1 to shoot 74 in Round 2, including a birdie on No. 18.

Three-time defending champion Corner Canyon tied for eighth at 588. The Pioneers had already signaled their arrival by winning the Region 3 title earlier this fall, the program's first region championship at the 6A level.

Every player on Lehi's championship roster is eligible to return next fall.
