Lehi's girls soccer team finished the Region 3 season tied for second place with Corner Canyon at 4-4 and will carry a 10-8 overall record into the 6A state playoffs.
MaxPreps ranks the Pioneers 18th in Utah heading into the postseason. The 6A playoff bracket is scheduled for release Saturday, Oct. 10, and Lehi's first-round opponent is not yet known.
Second round split at 2-2
The Pioneers went 2-2 in the second round of league play. The highlight was a 5-0 road win at Skyridge on Sept. 24, where junior forward Lillie Watson scored twice and sophomore goalkeeper Siena Wells earned the shutout. Lehi closed the regular season with a 3-0 Senior Night victory over American Fork on Tuesday, Oct. 6. Watson again led the attack with two goals, and Wells posted another clean sheet. Deseret News scores confirmed the Oct. 6 result.
The two losses came at Lone Peak on Sept. 22, a 2-1 defeat after a lightning delay disrupted Lehi's early momentum, and a 2-0 home loss to Corner Canyon on Sept. 29.
Third-year coach Jonas Hartmann told the Lehi Free Press he believes the team is peaking at the right time. He credited junior Aly Badger for anchoring the defense and said Watson has returned to the form that produced 15 goals and four assists as a sophomore in 2025.
"I told the ladies that the playoffs start today and we have to play like there is no tomorrow and they delivered," Hartmann said after the American Fork win.
Freshman Avery Hightower, called up from JV, made her varsity debut in the Sept. 24 win at Skyridge.
New format narrows the 6A field
The 6A playoffs carry a new format this season. Only the top 16 teams in each classification qualify, down from previous years. First- and second-round games are set for Tuesday, Oct. 13, and Thursday, Oct. 15, at home sites. The semifinals and final will be played at Zions Bank Stadium in Herriman on Oct. 19 and Oct. 23.
Hartmann noted that Lone Peak, which beat Lehi twice in region play, holds the No. 1 seed. The Pioneers' three most recent games against the Knights have all been decided by a single goal.
