Alpine residents can haul yard waste, old furniture and other household junk to Creekside Park for free on Saturday, Nov. 7.
The city is placing dumpsters at the park, located at 455 Village Way, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. as part of its Fall Clean-up Day, according to a notice on the city's website. No appointment or fee is required.
The accepted list is broad: tree limbs, shrubbery, grass clippings, green yard waste, building materials, furniture, limited appliances and household items.
The city will not accept sod, dirt, rocks, treated wood, animal waste, construction debris, concrete, railroad ties, mattresses, box springs or refrigerators. Hazardous materials, lithium-ion batteries, anything containing freon, tires, tanks, drums, barrels and toxic or flammable materials are also banned. Liquid or septic loads, dead animals and any motorized vehicles will be turned away.
The city's notice says "limited appliances" are accepted but does not specify which ones qualify. Residents with questions may want to contact Alpine City Hall before loading up.
This is not the city's first free-dumpster event of the year. Alpine City's official X account announced on April 3 a Neighborhood Clean Up Day scheduled for April 25 at Creekside Park with the same hours and the same accepted-item guidelines. The fall edition marks at least the second cleanup the city has offered in 2026.
Dumpsters close at 2 p.m. The city has not announced a next cleanup date beyond Nov. 7.
