The man killed in a three-vehicle crash on Timpanogos Highway on Friday, Aug. 7, has been identified as Chandler David Hendry, 27, a Lehi resident and founder of the Restored Truth podcast.

Hendry ran a red light at the intersection of Timpanogos Highway and 1200 West around 8:25 a.m. and collided with two northbound vehicles, according to witness accounts cited by ABC4 Utah. He was not wearing a seatbelt.

Lehi City spokesperson Jeanteil Livingston confirmed to ABC4 that Hendry was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. No other serious injuries were reported among occupants of the other two vehicles.

The crash at the intersection of Timpanogos Highway and Morning Vista Road shut down the intersection for several hours on Aug. 7 while investigators worked the scene. Our earlier report on the crash confirmed one fatality and road closures but did not identify the victim.

Who was Chandler Hendry?

Hendry founded Restored Truth, a podcast and YouTube channel focused on the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints that aimed to prepare future missionaries. His YouTube channel gained more than 11,000 subscribers in roughly a year, according to The Cougar Chronicle, a BYU student publication that published a memorial tribute on Saturday, Aug. 8.

The Restored Truth website has been updated with an announcement for a candlelight vigil in Hendry's memory. Social media posts indicate Hendry is survived by a wife and children, and a fundraiser for his family was circulating online as of Saturday, Aug. 8.
