Skyridge junior quarterback Jagger Fountaine landed on the Deseret News Week 3 top-20 performances list for Class 6A, the only Utah County player in the classification to earn the honor.

Fountaine completed 29 of 46 passes for 297 yards and three touchdowns in the Falcons' 31-24 win over nationally ranked Hun School of Princeton, New Jersey, on Saturday, Aug. 29. He added an 18-yard rushing touchdown in the third quarter for four total scores.

The game, played at West High School as part of the inaugural Panther Classic showcase, turned into a fourth-quarter battle after Skyridge built a 24-3 lead. Hun stormed back to tie the game at 24 in the fourth quarter.

With 2:32 left, senior linebacker Sua Ripley and senior defensive back Crew Stevens sacked the Hun quarterback to force a punt. Fountaine then led a methodical drive that ended with a 10-yard touchdown pass to sophomore Malosi Shepard in the final seconds.

"Jagger battled with ups and downs throughout the game," head coach Justin Hemm told the Lehi Free Press after the Aug. 29 win. "For offense to put together a two-minute drive near the end of the game and get hit with some great defense from a well-coached team was some big-time stuff."

Senior wide receiver Omarion Sanders caught eight passes for 113 yards. Ripley finished with seven tackles, 2.5 sacks and two hurries. Senior linebacker Rex Caswell blocked a Hun punt in the first half, and senior linebacker Sa Tanuvasa recovered it, setting up a 25-yard Evan Kopp field goal that gave Skyridge a 10-3 halftime lead.

The win improved Skyridge to 2-1. KSL Sports kept the Falcons at No. 3 in its statewide Top 25 entering Week 4.

Skyridge travels to Liberty High School in Henderson, Nevada, on Friday, Sept. 4, with kickoff set for 7 p.m. PDT.
