Former Lehi High star Legend Glasker's 26-yard catch set up the game-winning touchdown in No. 8 BYU's 28-24 upset of No. 2 Notre Dame. The Cougars won Saturday, Oct. 17, at LaVell Edwards Stadium in Provo.

The true freshman wide receiver finished with five catches for 66 yards and 75 all-purpose yards, tying for the team lead in receiving yards and leading BYU in all-purpose yards. It was the first-ever meeting of two top-10 teams at LaVell Edwards Stadium, and BYU's largest home crowd since 2004 packed the venue at 65,179, the Deseret News reported.

Glasker's biggest moment came with 4:23 left in the fourth quarter. Trailing 21-24, sophomore quarterback Bear Bachmeier found Glasker on second-and-10 for the 26-yard pickup to the Notre Dame 15-yard line. Four plays later, Bachmeier fired a strike to a diving Walker Lyons for a 6-yard touchdown that put BYU ahead 28-24 with 1:47 to play.

"I was calm and collected, especially on the last drive," Glasker told the Deseret News. "I knew the ball was going to come so I just had to make a play some way."

He delivered.

Glasker also came up big in the second quarter. With BYU trailing 7-10, he turned a Bachmeier pass into a 19-yard gain to the Notre Dame 28-yard line, according to Lehi Free Press. That drive ended with a double-pass touchdown by Bachmeier that gave BYU a 14-10 lead.

Six games into his college career, Glasker is BYU's leading receiver with 24 catches for 444 yards and three touchdowns. He leads the next Cougar receiver by 200 yards. His five-catch performance against Notre Dame marked his third game with five or more receptions, tied for fourth-most among active FBS true freshmen this season, the Lehi Free Press reported. He is the only Big 12 true freshman with even one such game.

Glasker was not the only area product on the field. Former Skyridge standout Tausili Akana, a redshirt junior defensive lineman, recorded two tackles and a pass breakup against the Irish. Akana leads BYU in tackles-for-loss with 6.5 and sacks with 3.5 through six games.

Bott Mulitalo, a Lehi resident and former Lone Peak four-star recruit, started at offensive line. Sophomore defensive end Hunter Clegg, a former American Fork player and BYU team co-captain, added two solo tackles and a hurry.

Notre Dame entered the game as a double-digit favorite with the nation's top-rated defense. Bachmeier threw for 224 yards. He accounted for all 28 BYU points against that unit.

BYU travels to Orlando to face UCF on Saturday, Oct. 24, on FOX.
