Highland closing 10100 N near Lone Peak High School starting Friday

Closed: 10100 N (south of Lone Peak High School)

Open: Knight Avenue, for school and park access
Expected reopening: Wednesday, Aug. 12, based on the stated closure window

Highland City will shut down 10100 N, the road running directly south of Lone Peak High School, from Friday, Aug. 7, through Tuesday, Aug. 11, for a road improvement project.

Knight Avenue will stay open throughout the closure, preserving access to both Lone Peak High School and Highland Glen Park, the city said in an announcement on X on Wednesday, Aug. 5.

The city did not specify what type of road work is planned or whether a signed detour will be in place. Knight Avenue provides the alternate route to the school and park during the closure.

Highland Glen Park access

Highland Glen Park, located at 4800 Knight Ave. behind Lone Peak High School, draws families year-round with its pond, walking trails, playground, biking paths, beach and fishing docks. With Knight Avenue remaining open, visitors should still be able to reach the park without disruption.

The closure overlaps with the opening days of Alpine Days, the annual festival in neighboring Alpine running Saturday, Aug. 8, through Saturday, Aug. 15. Residents traveling between the two communities may encounter heavier-than-usual traffic near the construction zone.
