Highland City residents 65 and older can reserve a seat at the city's annual Senior Citizen Appreciation Dinner, a free evening of food and entertainment set for Monday, Sept. 14, at Heritage Park Pavilion.

The dinner runs from 5 to 7 p.m. at the pavilion, located at 10400 Alpine Highway. The city announced the event on its official Instagram account on Tuesday, Aug. 11, describing the evening as a chance to celebrate and honor the senior members of the Highland community.

The meal is catered, and live entertainment is planned. No cost for eligible Highland residents.

The dinner is a longstanding Highland tradition. The city's Youth City Council participates in the event as part of its community service programming, joining activities that also include the Highland Fling, Easter Egg Hunt and Arbor Day tree planting throughout the year.
