Skyridge finished second at the 6A state boys golf tournament Oct. 12-13, turning a fifth-place Region 3 season into a surprise runner-up trophy at Talons Cove Golf Club in Saratoga Springs.

The Falcons posted a two-day total of 569 (-7), seven strokes behind champion Lehi and two ahead of third-place Lone Peak, according to Lehi Free Press.

Freshman Jraice Finau, the son of PGA Tour player Tony Finau, led Skyridge with a fifth-place individual finish at 138 (-6), the Deseret News reported. Junior Klive Fuhriman tied for 10th at 142 (-3).

Coach Tenille Slack told Lehi Free Press that Finau and Fuhriman "have been solid anchors for us all season."

"It was a good two days for my boys," Slack said. "They were steady, confident, and focused."

Senior Tanner Porter tied for 15th at 144 (E). Junior Landon Makin tied for 20th at 145 (+1) to round out the counted scores. Junior Hayes Mauss and sophomore Beckham Bell also competed for the state team.

Skyridge shot 283 (-5) in the first round to grab second place behind Lehi's 276. Davis sat one stroke back at 284. Region 3 powers Lone Peak (291) and Corner Canyon (294) trailed well behind. Those two programs have combined for 13 of the last 14 state titles, according to Lehi Free Press.

The Falcons held off a Lone Peak charge in the second round, finishing at 286 to the Knights' 280. The two-stroke cushion from Day 1 proved enough.

The silver finish capped a season of steady growth. Skyridge posted a 296 at a late-season region meet Sept. 30 at Riverbend Golf Course in Riverton, where Finau led the team with a 71.

Porter is the lone senior. Skyridge returns Finau, Fuhriman, Makin, Mauss and Bell, giving the Falcons a deep core heading into the 2027 season.
