Jagger Fountaine hit sophomore Malosi Shepard for a 10-yard touchdown in the final seconds Saturday, Aug. 29, lifting Skyridge to a 31-24 win over Hun School. The game at West High School was part of the inaugural Panther Classic showcase and was played after a weather delay.

The victory moved the Falcons to 2-1 and handed a signature early-season win to a program ranked No. 3 in Utah by High School Football America. Hun School, out of Princeton, New Jersey, entered the game ranked No. 2 in the state by On3 after an 8-3 season in 2025.

Fountaine, a junior quarterback, completed 29 of 46 passes for 297 yards, three touchdowns and one interception. He added 38 yards on six carries, including an 18-yard rushing score in the third quarter.

Hun School scored first on a 32-yard field goal early in the first quarter. Skyridge answered when junior receiver Steeler Wesley hauled in a 3-yard touchdown pass to cap a long drive, and junior kicker Evan Kopp's extra point made it 7-3. Kopp later added a 25-yard field goal before halftime after senior linebacker Rex Caswell blocked a Hun School punt and senior linebacker Sa Tanuvasa recovered at the 20-yard line.

Fountaine connected with junior receiver Koa Wallwork on a 27-yard touchdown catch in the corner of the end zone to push the lead to 24-3.

Hun School answered with one touchdown in the third quarter and two in the fourth to tie the game at 24. The Raiders' offensive line opened holes and protected four-star quarterback Lukas Prock, a 2028 Indiana commit who threw for 4,330 yards and 41 touchdowns as a sophomore in 2025, according to Yahoo Sports.

The Falcon defense answered when it mattered most. Senior defensive back Crew Stevens and senior linebacker Sua Ripley combined for a sack that forced a punt with 2:32 left. Skyridge's offense then marched downfield, and Fountaine found Shepard wide open in the back of the end zone for the winner.

"Jagger battled with ups and downs throughout the game," head coach Justin Hemm told the Lehi Free Press. "For offense to put together a two-minute drive near the end of the game and get hit with some great defense from a well-coached team was some big-time stuff."

Ripley led the defense with seven tackles, 2.5 sacks and two hurries. Senior defensive back Trey Harper also recorded seven tackles. Senior wide receiver Omarion Sanders paced the receiving corps with eight catches for 113 yards, while junior running back Beckham Bennett rushed for 64 yards on 12 carries.

Skyridge travels to Henderson, Nevada, on Friday, Sept. 4, to face Liberty High School. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. PDT. Liberty, ranked second in Nevada, improved to 1-1 after a 42-0 win over Tafuna on Aug. 29.
