Legend Glasker, the former Lehi High two-time all-state wide receiver, has earned a first-team spot at BYU less than a week into fall camp.

Receivers coach Fesi Sitake confirmed Tuesday, Aug. 11, that the true freshman has "solidified his spot" with the first-team offense alongside Oregon transfer Kyler Kasper and redshirt junior Jojo Phillips, according to the Deseret News. Glasker will wear No. 1 and is being evaluated as a kickoff and punt returner.

It's a rapid elevation for a three-star recruit who had only two other Power Conference offers from Cal and Utah.

"I didn't anticipate that, just because it doesn't happen a lot," Sitake said of Glasker's rise. "So it's a credit to him how he's picked up our playbook, and how smart he is. It's a credit to his work ethic. I mean, he's not just a talented kid. He's so much more."

As we reported Aug. 7, offensive coordinator Aaron Roderick had already confirmed Glasker would see the field this fall. The Aug. 11 update moves him from "will play" to locked into the starting rotation.

Pioneer numbers tell the story

Glasker caught 37 passes for 781 yards and 11 touchdowns as a junior at Lehi before committing to BYU in the summer of 2025. As a senior, he posted 37 catches for 676 yards and nine touchdowns while adding 11 carries for 206 rushing yards. Over those two seasons he totaled 1,457 receiving yards and 20 receiving touchdowns, per KSL.

Listed at 6-foot-2 and 175 pounds according to KSL, Glasker graduated from Lehi High in December 2025 and enrolled early at BYU, giving him a full spring camp to learn the playbook. At a skills camp during his junior year, he ran a 4.42-second 40-yard dash and now believes he can run in the 4.3 range after working with BYU director of high performance Dr. Skyler Mayne.

Overlooked no more

Sitake told reporters he could not believe more Power 4 programs did not recruit Glasker and concluded the Lehi product was simply overlooked. BYU kept recruiting him, and Glasker eventually canceled all his other visits and committed, citing a desire to follow in the footsteps of cousin Isaiah Glasker, a BYU linebacker.

During fall camp, Glasker has appeared multiple times in BYU's daily post-practice highlight video, including a catch where he beat All-America cornerback Evan Johnson. He caught a deep ball from quarterback Bear Bachmeier during Tuesday's practice.

Sitake described Glasker as the last player to leave practice on many days and said the freshman spent the summer organizing extra work with teammates.

What's next

BYU opens its 2026 season Saturday, Sept. 5, against Utah Tech at LaVell Edwards Stadium in Provo. Glasker said he is currently second- or third-string on both the kickoff and punt return units behind Tiger Bachmeier and cornerback Cannon DeVries, but special teams coordinator Justin Ena continues to evaluate him for those roles.

One more detail to watch for: Glasker has said he plans to pay tribute to Michael Jackson on his first touchdown celebration. A moonwalk is not out of the question.
