The Lehi Pioneers boys golf team shot a combined 266, 22 under par, to beat Morgan and Union by 46 strokes in their season-opening match Monday, Aug. 10, at Thanksgiving Point.

Sophomore Jordan Ofahengaue led the way with a bogey-free 63, nine under par. Sophomore Crue Harward matched the clean card with a bogey-free 65 (-7), followed by junior Adi Notoa at 66 (-6) and junior Brodyn Pace at even-par 72.

The margin wasn't close.

Morgan, described by Lehi Free Press as the defending 3A state champion, posted a 312. Union finished at 329.

"Having both Jordan and Crue play mistake-free, bogey-free golf on day one sets an incredible bar for the rest of our season," coach Johnny Revill said.

The depth behind Lehi's top four underscored the dominance. Sophomore newcomer Simon Caceres carded a 74, while Tate Bollschweiler and Carson Priest each shot 81 and senior Jack Nelson posted a 93. That four-player total of 329 matched Union's entire team score.

Ofahengaue and Harward bring national-level junior experience to the Pioneers' lineup. Ofahengaue and Notoa played on the Utah 17U all-star team that finished second at the 2024 PGA Jr. League Championship and won the Region 11 title in September 2025 before returning to nationals. Harward competed on the 13U Utah team that placed third at PGA Jr. Nationals in 2024.

At last year's 6A state tournament, Lehi finished ninth. Ofahengaue qualified individually for Day 2, finishing tied for 13th at 1-under, while Harward shot a 71 on Day 1. Corner Canyon won the team title over runner-up Lone Peak, with American Fork fifth.

The Pioneers named a 24-player roster on Aug. 3, and Monday's opener was the first competitive test of the fall. The 6A state championship is scheduled for Oct. 12-13 at Talons Cove in Saratoga Springs, just minutes from Lehi.

Region 3 play opens Monday, Aug. 17, at Mountain Dell Canyon Course in Parley's Canyon east of Salt Lake City. Corner Canyon, Lone Peak and American Fork all return state-tournament players from 2025.
