The fall prep sports season arrives in Lehi a full 16 days before the first bell rings. Golf, soccer, tennis, cross country, volleyball, and football all begin competition between Monday, Aug. 3, and Monday, Aug. 17, all before the first day of school on Wednesday, Aug. 19.

Skyridge football enters the season ranked No. 2 in the 2026 Utah Class 6A preseason coaches poll, collecting four first-place votes behind only Corner Canyon. The Falcons went 9-3 in 2025 and open the official season with a Thursday, Aug. 13, endowment game (a preseason contest that benefits school programs) at preseason No. 5 Mountain Ridge, kicking off at 7 p.m. KJZZ-TV will broadcast the game as the statewide high school season opener.

The Falcons host Orem High School on Friday, Aug. 21, in their home opener.

Lehi's football season begins Friday, Aug. 14, at 7 p.m. when the Pioneers host Maple Mountain in an endowment game. The Pioneers then welcome Mountain Ridge the following week. Lehi finished the 2025 regular season 6-4.

Both programs hold intrasquad scrimmages on Friday, Aug. 7. Skyridge's Orange and Grey games start at 6 p.m. with younger players, followed by varsity and JV. Lehi's Purple and White scrimmages begin at 5 p.m. for sophomores, with varsity taking the field around 6:30 p.m.

Before the pads come on

Non-football sports get a head start. The Skyridge boys golf team opens first, competing at the Northern Utah Invitational on Monday, Aug. 3.

Girls soccer follows on Tuesday, Aug. 4. Lehi visits Bountiful at 3:30 p.m., while Skyridge hosts Olympus with a 5:15 p.m. varsity kickoff. On Thursday, Aug. 6, the Falcons travel to Desert Hills (3:30 p.m.) and the Pioneers host Riverton for their home opener at 3:30 p.m. Skyridge continues a southern road swing at Crimson Cliffs on Saturday, Aug. 8, at 8 p.m. and Snow Canyon on Sunday, Aug. 9, at 7:30 p.m.

The Lehi girls tennis team hosts the Lehi Ladies Open Tennis Tournament on Friday, Aug. 7, and Saturday, Aug. 8, starting at 8 a.m. each day. Skyridge girls tennis opens Thursday, Aug. 13, hosting Region 3 rival Corner Canyon at 3 p.m.

Skyridge cross country competes at the Premier Invitational at the Cottonwood Complex in Salt Lake City on Saturday, Aug. 8.

Lehi volleyball hosts Westlake on Tuesday, Aug. 11, with varsity first serve around 6:30 p.m. Skyridge volleyball opens at Pleasant Grove on Thursday, Aug. 13, also around 6:30 p.m.

Region 3 golf tees off Aug. 17

The Region 3 golf season begins Monday, Aug. 17, for both Lehi and Skyridge at the Mountain Dell Canyon Course with an 8:30 a.m. start time. That's two days before students walk into class on Wednesday, Aug. 19.
