Eight Lehi residents and couples who have shaped community life through decades of volunteer service will be honored at the 2026 Lehi Heritage Day celebration on Saturday, Aug. 29, at the city's new Civic Center.

For the first time in the event's history, Heritage Day won't fall on Labor Day.

The Lehi Historical Society announced the honorees Thursday, July 30, naming Joseph and Penny H. Adamson; Kim E. and Laurie D. Cooper; Lec Don and Kim Roundy Holmes; Stanley R. and Kathy Lynn Smith; Robb Strong; Lenard Alva and Julia H. Wing; and Shawn Lott and Nikkole Winters.

Together, the group represents service across the Lehi Round-Up Rodeo Committee, the Board of Adjustments, the Lehi Arts Council, the Historical Society Committee, Lehi Serves, the Boy Scouts of America, Miss Lehi, Little League coaching, Girls' Camp volunteering, and the Lehi Silver Band.

Lara Bangerter, who has directed the Lehi Historical Society since 2017, said recognizing the honorees is one of the organization's most rewarding traditions.

New venue, new date

Heritage Day moves this year to the Lehi Civic Center at 131 N. 100 East, the facility that opened to the public April 13 and includes a library, community rooms, and city administration offices. The building's architecture draws on design elements of the historic Lehi Tabernacle.

The event runs from 2:30 to 6 p.m. Admission is free. The program includes a parade, an honoree ceremony and exhibits, a car show, and food trucks.

Marker Quest grand finale

The celebration also serves as the finish line for the Lehi Historical Marker Quest, a summer-long scavenger hunt we covered July 25. Twenty-six historical markers will be represented at the Civic Center on Heritage Day, and participants can collect stickers in their passports and enter prize drawings. Those who visited markers in person earn extra raffle tickets.

"We've had people come in to get their passports stamped, and they're so excited to tell us what they've learned and the connections they discovered," said Paula Berg, archivist for the Lehi Historical Society.

Passports are still available at the Historical Society offices at 99 W. Main St., Suite 100, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from noon to 5 p.m.

Lehi Heritage Day is organized by the Lehi Historical Society and sponsored by Lehi City, a Lehi City PARC Grant, HADCO Construction, SIRQ Construction, and Strata Networks.
