Westfield Elementary in Alpine posted the largest elementary performance gain in Alpine School District on the state's annual report cards.
The school climbed 9.9 percentage points in overall performance during the 2025-26 school year, driven by gains in achievement, growth and lowest-quartile growth. The Utah State Board of Education (USBE) released the report cards, which measure student achievement, academic growth, English Learner progress and readiness for future learning, according to the district.
Several schools serving Alpine, Highland, Cedar Hills and Lehi families were among the district's top gainers.
Camille Zollinger, principal at Westfield Elementary, said the results reflect staff collaboration.
"Success builds on success, and our staff is invested in helping every student grow, every day," Zollinger said.
At the high school level, Lone Peak High in Highland led the district with a 6.4-percentage-point increase. The school posted gains in achievement, growth and English Learner progress. Skyridge High in Lehi rose 3.0 percentage points, driven by achievement and postsecondary readiness.
Willowcreek Middle in Lehi also improved, gaining 3.4 percentage points with increases in achievement, growth and lowest-quartile growth.
Jason Crowton, Alpine District's director of results and achievement, said the report cards help the district identify trends and recognize areas needing improvement. He noted that achievement measures student performance on Utah RISE and Utah Aspire Plus assessments against state standards, while growth tracks year-to-year progress relative to peers.
Crowton also cautioned that the report cards do not tell the whole story of a school or an individual student. He said parents can use the information to understand school progress and start conversations with educators.
The gains fit a broader statewide trend. A USBE news release from Sept. 11 reported that statewide science proficiency reached 49.8 percent, comfortably exceeding pre-pandemic levels. English language arts hit 45.4 percent proficiency statewide, and math reached 42.5 percent.
The district highlighted only top gainers at each level. Results for other schools, including Lehi High, were not included. Absolute performance scores were also not published.
Parents can view individual school report cards through the USBE's Utah Educational Data Gateway at dashboards.schools.utah.gov.
