Lehi families can catch one more free summer night out before school starts. The city is screening Miracle, the 2004 Disney film about the 1980 U.S. Olympic hockey team's gold-medal run, outdoors at Family Park on Friday, Aug. 14.
The event is part of Lehi City's America 250 programming, marking the nation's 250th anniversary of independence. Admission and popcorn are free (while supplies last). Activities begin at 8 p.m., with the film rolling at dusk, around 9 p.m., according to the city's event listing.
Family Park is at 1999 N 600 E in Lehi. Bring blankets or lawn chairs.
The timing gives families a last hurrah: Alpine School District students head back to class Wednesday, Aug. 19, just five days later, according to KUTV.
Lehi's movie night is one of several America 250 events across the state. The America250 Utah Commission partnered with municipalities in 150 communities to organize local celebrations, according to the Deseret News. Nicole Handy, executive director of the commission, told the Deseret News in May that Utah is "one of 56 states and territories representing 350 million Americans celebrating and commemorating this anniversary."
The same park hosted Lehi's annual Splash Party on July 25, which drew families for free fireworks.
